The Festival Is Almost Over. Now What? |
The Festival is almost over — but summer in Grand Traverse is not.
The crowds thin out, the banners come down, and the region slides back into its normal rhythm. That usually means a better time to enjoy the bay, local restaurants, farm stands, nearby towns, and the spots that got buried under Festival traffic.
This issue is built around that shift: what to watch now, what to make, what to visit, and what local stories still matter after the big event ends. |
The Grand Traverse County Clerk’s Office now offers LiveScan fingerprinting at the Governmental Center on Boardman Avenue.
This new service responds to local demand for electronic fingerprinting needed for jobs, licensing, volunteering, adoption, and other background checks required by the state.
LiveScan gathers fingerprints digitally and sends them directly to state agencies for swift processing.
The Clerk’s Office expects to serve educators, healthcare and childcare workers, nonprofit volunteers, and residents needing state-mandated checks.
County Clerk Samuel Gedman highlighted the benefit of offering this locally, ensuring residents avoid long travel or confusion with multiple agencies.
The goal is to make essential government services more accessible and efficient for the community.
