Kalkaska-area Halloween plans can start with a choice: a regular haunted-attraction night or a separately scheduled no-scare visit. Screams in the Dark at Blackwood Hollow has an October calendar at 5548 M-66, with different hours and ticket arrangements depending on the date.
For the remaining mid-to-late October Friday and Saturday dates, the venue lists October 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31 from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. The Sunday dates of October 18 and 25 are listed from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
A no-scare event is separately listed for Sunday, October 11, from 7 to 10 p.m. That is a distinct option, not a description of the regular haunted nights. Visitors with age, sensory or accessibility questions should contact the operator about the particular outing they are considering.
Pick the date before picking the ticket
The venue says Friday and Saturday advance purchases use 30-minute time slots. Guests should arrive 15 minutes early, and the selected slot is not a promise of immediate entry. Limited slots can sell out, so check the booking page before making a trip around a particular time.
The operator lists Sundays and the no-scare event as walk-up purchases, with no online sales for those outings. Keep that distinction in mind if an online calendar does not show the date you want. It does not automatically mean the event is canceled or sold out.
The 2026 HauntPay listing shows tickets starting at $20. That is a starting price, not a guaranteed final total for every purchase. Review the specific date, ticket description, fees and terms at checkout before paying. |

Know what the advertised attractions include
The ticket listing names Blackwood Manor, Trails of the Lost and Pandemonium. It also describes a midway with additional experiences, including Escaping Evil 2, a five-minute escape game, and Crowe Mortuary, a ten-minute, two-room escape game.
The Burial coffin simulation, Psycho Spin gyroscope and axe throwing are also advertised as midway options. The listing says midway attractions require separate tickets purchased at the souvenir store. Do not treat the ticket’s starting price as an all-inclusive pass to every named activity.
That distinction is useful for groups with different budgets or interests. Decide which experiences you want to ask about before arriving, and confirm the ticket package covers what you expect. The published attraction names do not establish that every experience is suitable for every visitor.
Use the operator’s directions and warnings
The venue specifically warns that GPS directions can send drivers to the wrong entrance. It identifies the entrance as opposite Blue Heron Drive on M-66. Look at the operator’s directions before setting out instead of relying only on an address dropped into a navigation app.
Read the posted attraction warnings as part of choosing your visit. If you need clarification about effects, terrain, mobility access, age suitability or the no-scare format, ask the operator directly. The venue lists 231-649-1338 and [email protected] for contact.
Allow time for the drive, arrival and any queue rather than treating your booking slot as the moment you will finish the attraction. Wear footwear appropriate for the outing and check the latest venue information before leaving, especially if weather could affect your plans.
Finally, review purchase and cancellation terms on both the booking page and the operator’s website. For this Kalkaska outing, the strongest plan is a specific date, the right ticket arrangement and a clear understanding of which experiences are included before the Halloween suspense begins.

Good to know Sundays are walk-up only
Dave ThompsonI almost thought Sunday was sold out when I couldn't find tickets online. Glad they cleared that up.
Yes, Sundays are listed as walk-up purchases, with no online sales. Thanks for reading!
No-scare night sounds great for my kid
The no-scare event on Sunday, October 11, is a separate option from the regular haunted nights. We’d suggest checking with the operator about whether it’s a good fit for your child.
Maria G.Same here. I'm glad there's a separate night so we can try it without the scares.
