Glen Arbor Halloween: Daytime Treats and a Riverside Hog Roast
October 25 brings downtown trick-or-treating, followed by food and live music at The Mill.

Glen Arbor’s Halloween plans offer a daylight outing with an optional food-and-music stop afterward. On Sunday, October 25, 2026, participating downtown businesses are scheduled to welcome trick-or-treaters from noon to 3 p.m., or until their treats run out.

The Glen Lake Chamber’s event listing describes the downtown activity as free, open to the public and family-friendly. Costumes are welcome. For parents who prefer to make their Halloween outing before evening, that midday window is the central detail to put on the calendar.

The same date brings a separate gathering at The Mill Glen Arbor: its annual hog roast is listed from noon to 8 p.m., with live music from 3 to 8 p.m. Admission to that event is free, while dinner is available to purchase. The two events have their own locations and offerings, so plan for them as separate stops.

Start with the downtown candy window

Trick-or-treating takes place at participating businesses rather than along a published door-to-door neighborhood route. The chamber has not supplied a complete shop list in the event description. Check its calendar close to October 25 for any additional details before deciding exactly where to begin.

The “until treats run out” condition matters if your group is considering a late arrival. Getting downtown earlier in the noon-to-3-p.m. window gives you more room to enjoy the outing without building your plan around every shop having candy until the final minute.

For a family group, it can help to choose a meeting point before starting, keep candy bags easy to carry and work a warm layer into costumes. Those are practical suggestions for the outing, not requirements announced by the chamber. If a stroller or mobility aid is part of your visit, ask about the participating route rather than assuming every stop has the same entrance arrangement.

Make The Mill an optional second stop

The Mill is at 5440 West Harbor Highway, separate from the downtown trick-or-treating stops. Its own website describes a riverside property with a café, restaurant and guesthouse. The chamber’s hog-roast listing supplies the October 25 event hours and music window.

That schedule leaves several ways to shape the day. You could visit downtown during the candy window and head to The Mill afterward, or choose the roast as your main outing. The overlap does not require doing both, and families can decide how much time suits their group.

Budget for dinner if the food is part of your plan. Free entry is not the same as a complimentary meal. The event listing does not publish a dinner price, a full menu or the music lineup, so check with The Mill for those details before promising a particular dish or performer to your group.

Check the year and the latest updates

The chamber’s trick-or-treating page has a stale year in one sentence of its description. Its event heading, structured date and current calendar identify the outing as October 25, 2026. The separate hog-roast listing also places that event on October 25, 2026.

The Mill’s website lists 231-835-2069 for venue questions. The chamber calendar is the place to revisit for downtown participation and schedule updates. Neither listing establishes a weather backup plan, so check the organizers’ latest information if conditions might affect your visit.

For Glen Arbor, the appeal is the choice: a free downtown costume-and-candy outing in the afternoon, with a separate riverside meal and music gathering available on the same Sunday. Pick the parts that fit your group and leave time to enjoy them.

A shop list would make planning easier! The chamber hasn’t published a complete one in the event description, so we’d check its calendar closer to October 25.

We’re glad the daylight timing works for you! Downtown trick-or-treating is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m., or until treats run out.

Megan R.Same here. Daylight trick-or-treating is so much easier with little kids.
