Deer Widow's Weekend is on the calendar at The Village at Grand Traverse Commons for November 14 and 15, 2026. The organizer's current events calendar lists a two-day indoor craft and vendor show in Kirkbride Hall, with free admission and activities described as suitable for all ages.
Choose the right day and time
The main calendar lists Saturday shopping from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kirkbride Hall is at 700 Cottageview Drive in Traverse City. Note the earlier Sunday closing time when arranging a late lunch, coordinating with friends or deciding how long to spend browsing.
The organizer advertises a free logo bag for the first 250 people through the doors each day, along with door prizes and giveaways. Treat those extras as limited offers rather than guaranteed benefits for everyone. Free admission also does not mean merchandise, meals or every activity elsewhere on the campus is included.
A scheduling detail to double-check
The individual Saturday event page and Sunday event page contain carried-over dates or conflicting time fields. This article follows the current master calendar's November 14–15 dates and daily shopping hours. Confirm the schedule directly with the organizer before a special trip, especially if a tunnel visit is the main reason you want to attend.
Complimentary tunnel tours are advertised on the master calendar, but the two days show different tour windows. Do not assume the shopping hours are also the tour hours. Ask about access, timing and any participation requirements before adding that activity to your plans.
Keep the market and regular shops separate
The Village's shopping directory lists year-round businesses including Landmark Books, Crystal Lake Alpaca Boutique, Sanctuary Goods and Silver Fox Jewelry. Those are regular campus shops; their inclusion in the directory is not confirmation that they will have vendor booths in Kirkbride Hall.
The directory publishes Mercato hours separately from the craft show. In November, its listed general hours run later than the show's closing time, but individual businesses may differ. Check a particular shop directly if you are hoping to visit it after the event, and avoid assuming a campus-wide schedule applies to every storefront.
Make a manageable shopping plan
As a practical approach, choose a spending limit and note a few gift recipients before arriving. If considering a custom item, ask the seller about the finished price, delivery timing and return policy before paying. Bring a bag for purchases even if you hope to receive one of the event totes.
Build in a separate food stop
The Village's dining directory includes coffeehouses, a bakery, brunch restaurants and other food businesses, with a reminder to confirm individual hours. Pick a meeting place if your group wants to browse separately, then reconfirm the show schedule before leaving home. That keeps the outing centered on the published market hours while leaving space for an optional meal.
Ask vendors directly about purchases
If you are buying a gift that will travel, check whether it needs protective packaging or special care. Ask about accepted payment methods before selecting several items, and keep receipts or seller contact details for any later questions. These are shopping suggestions, not event-wide policies: each business or vendor may set its own terms, and the organizer's free-admission announcement does not establish them.
